THE BLACKMORE VALE INN

MARNHULL,  DORSET.

A beautiful and traditional 17th century inn, with beams, inglenooks and beer garden, serving award winning restaurant meals, bar food, fine wines and ales.

Recently listed 16th in The Times

“Best 50 Places to Eat in the Countryside”

The Vale in Marnhull.

Sitting in the heart of Dorset’s Blackmore Vale, The Blackmore Vale Inn features as  ‘Rollivers’  in author Thomas Hardy’s  “Tess of the D’Urbervilles”. In this famous novel, Hardy portrays a disreputable and illegal drinking house, where secret ale drinking groups gathered upstairs.

Now The Blackmore Vale Inn is a family run traditional Dorset pub and restaurant, with its centuries old features and character still very much in evidence - stone walls, beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplaces.

In addition to serving award-winning food, fine wines and traditional ales, The Blackmore Vale Inn is central to much of the village life in Marnhull and hosts regular Wednesday quiz nights and live music events, including guest bands, open mic nights and Bank Holiday karaoke evenings. The pub has five skittles teams and two darts teams, as well as sponsoring the village netball team and match balls for the cricket club. Please call for details of current events.

For table reservations phone  01258 820701        Or just drop in for a drink and some tasty food.

Take away fish and chips ...  Every Friday from 5pm.
